On January 26, 2024, SVANC was invited to join the other Neighborhood Councils in CD6 by Councilmember Imelda Padilla to celebrate the kick-off of restarting the practice of occasionally holding city council meetings in the Valley. Padilla campaigned when she ran for the CD6 seat to bring meetings back to the Valley.

Speaking for SVANC, President Norma O. Chávez, expressed how involved Councilmember Padilla has been with SVANC, and how grateful SVANC is to both their councilmembers, including President Paul Krekorian councilmember for CD2. Her speech can be seen starting at 24:15.
