Dear community of Sun Valley:
Our July 30 cleanup went very well. We had a much smaller turnout than expected, but the amount of work done made it look as if we had twice the number of participants. We were grateful for a beautiful cloudy morning that facilitated our job! We were able to clean from Sunland Blvd. all the way to Arminta Street. We will be holding Phase II of this cleanup to complete the goal to clean all the way to Hollywood Way. We want to send special thanks to the business that allowed us to stage in their parking lot, to Diana Gonzalez the CD2 field deputy for working tirelessly to bring care and care plus services to those living in the RVs along San Fernando Rd, and by bringing all the resources needed to do the heavy work prior to our cleanup, to the Northeast Graffiti Busters for painting the red zones of the curbs prior to the event and for cleaning the graffiti during the cleanup day, to the students from the Poly High Key Club for coming to every single event we host, to the community members who came to assist, and last to all the SVANC board members who continue working hard to improve our beautiful Sun Valley.

Nuesta limpieza del 30 de Julio salió muy bien. Tuvimos una participación mucho menor de lo esperado, pero la cantidad de trabajo realizado hizo que pareciera que teníamos el doble de participantes. ¡Estuvimos muy agradecidos por una hermosa mañana nublada que facilitó nuestro trabajo! Pudímos limpiar desde el boulevard Sunland hasta la calle Arminta. Estamos planeando la segunda fase de esta limpieza para lograr la meta de limpiar hasta Hollywood Way. Queremos enviar un agradecimiento especial a la empresa que nos permitió presentarnos en su estacionamiento, a Diana González, la diputada de campo de CD2, por trabajar incansablemente para brindar atención y servicios adicionales a quienes viven en los vehículos recreativos a lo largo de San Fernando Rd, y al traer todos los recursos necesarios para hacer el trabajo pesado antes de nuestra limpieza, a Northeast Graffiti Busters por pintar las zonas rojas de las aceras antes del evento y por limpiar el graffiti durante el día de limpieza, a los estudiantes del Poly High Key Club por asistir a cada uno de los eventos que organizamos, y por último, a todos los miembros de la junta de SVANC que continúan trabajando arduamente para mejorar nuestro hermoso Sun Valley.
